"Integrative and anti-aging medicine is now establishing itself as a relevant response to contemporary patient expectations."
In the field of aesthetic medicine, a quiet revolution is emerging with the rise of integrative medicine. By combining traditional approaches from conventional medicine with alternative therapies, this practice aims to treat the patient holistically. This model finds a particular place in anti-aging medicine, where the focus is on improving quality of life, as well as on prevention and maintaining physical and mental balance.
Integrative medicine is based on a simple principle: considering the person as a whole, taking into account not only physical symptoms but also the psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects. In other words, it’s about treating the individual, not just the disease or apparent imperfection. This approach seeks to provide a more comprehensive response to each patient’s needs, while promoting less invasive treatments for more natural results. In parallel to conventional allopathic approaches, integrative medicine incorporates alternative and complementary practices such as acupuncture, functional (micro)nutrition, stress management, sophrology, and phytotherapy.
Today, being in good health means having a balanced diet, engaging in physical activity, maintaining psychological well-being, and having a satisfactory self-image. Aware of the need to adapt to evolving patient needs and drawing from his experience in integrative medicine in oncology, Dr. Michael Margulies sought to offer a quality solution within a dedicated space: the MIAA Center.
Founded in 2020, the Integrative and Anti-Aging Medicine Center provides a care pathway where the patient is no longer a passive observer of their health, but an active participant in their care.
To develop this specific care model, Dr. Michael Margulies, in collaboration with other team members, designed a comprehensive assessment based on four pillars: Morphological, Nutritional, Quality of Life|Sexuality, and Locomotor.
From the first consultation, patients benefit from this digitalized assessment enriched by artificial intelligence, which allows for establishing a precise health profile and providing global, evolving care.
After responding to 52 questions in the assessment, each pillar is specifically evaluated, and a score is assigned to each theme.
This assessment tool, which returns to the foundational concept of medicine while adapting to the patient’s needs, is reproducible: Each patient is re-evaluated midway through their treatment and after completion.
Thanks to the MIAA Assessment, the promise of ongoing patient care is possible.
'Healing souls as much as bodies is the noble mission of the therapists I work with at the MIAA Center. Creating connections with all vulnerable individuals while being attentive to them fosters a synergy of action.'
This is how I would summarize integrative and anti-aging medicine.
— Dr. Michael Margulies, Finalist at AMWC Monaco Awards Best Integrative Medicine 2025
Integrative and anti-aging medicine now presents a relevant response to the contemporary needs of patients seeking non-invasive treatments, without social exclusion, and with subtle, natural, and lasting results. It is based on a holistic approach to the person, aiming to slow the effects of aging while optimizing vitality, skin quality, and overall bodily balance. By combining advancements in aesthetic medicine (tissue stimulation, regenerative technologies, biostimulation) with key elements of integrative medicine (nutrition, micronutrition, hormonal balance, stress management, sleep disorders, and physical activity), this discipline allows for simultaneous action on both the causes and manifestations of aging. Far from transformational interventions, it promotes progressive regeneration that respects the patient's identity. This synergy of actions results in more harmonious, lasting outcomes in line with the growing demand for natural approaches and active aging prevention.
With this approach, aesthetic and anti-aging medicine is reinventing itself to offer not only aesthetic results but also true global well-being, allowing each individual to preserve their vitality and balance throughout life.
The future of aesthetic care will undoubtedly be holistic, with the pursuit of perfect harmony between body and mind remaining at the heart of our therapeutic approach, with the patient themselves as the main actor.
