A quick shortcut. Yes, I was born in Chile. I spent my early childhood there. I have vague, but colourful, olfactory memories of that country, impressions that no doubt left an unconscious mark on me. I have more sensations, emotions and memories of Morocco, where I lived as a child. But above all, I remember my mother’s daily gestures in front of the mirror, her very Guerlain fragrance, when she used to wear perfume. These images, these moments, lived in me and still do. They forged my passion for cosmetics, and encouraged me to think about beauty for men and women alike.
I’ve always been fascinated by plants and their powers. I was also lucky enough to grow up in flower gardens, on dunes and on shores where hundreds of plants, some very hardy, flourished. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted nothing more than to devote myself to the world of beauty, to make women happy, to watch for that little sparkle in their eyes when the mirror reflects back to them the image of a face, of skin magnified. It’s true that I developed my first creams at an age when boys preferred to play football or play with toy cars!
I was lucky enough to start my career in the pharmaceutical industry with Pierre Fabre, a real pioneer in dermocosmetics and phytotherapy, and I learned a lot from the doctors as well as from the methods and rigour associated with this world. After 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by the opening of a hotel, the world of hospitality appealed to me and still does. I decided to devote all my energy to creating the Olivier Claire brand, which good use all the knowledge I’ve acquired in the pharmaceutical and hotel sectors, as well as the notion of service, which for me is a key criterion for success. As a pioneer in what is now known as ‘clean beauty’, I had the intuition and the desire, based on my reflections, observations and experience, to develop my own brand around two key principles: effectiveness and eco-responsibility, using natural, 100% French ingredients. Nature inspires me. I draw on it for all the precious active ingredients in my range. Three key words define the world of Olivier Claire: naturalness, effectiveness and authenticity. For the last 10 years, I’ve been following this rule. And so, in the highly competitive world of cosmetics, Olivier Claire has carved out its own path, straight and uncompromising, establishing itself as a premium brand based on highly concentrated active ingredients. At Olivier Claire, we focus on the effectiveness, originality and rarity of the active ingredients. We rigorously select the best active plant ingredients from organic farming and biotechnology, respecting biodiversity. And we don’t test on animals. This is our strength in offering ethical anti-ageing products that are truly effective. Each of the skincare products in the range is made up of one or more active ingredients that act on one or more of the factors capable of combating skin ageing: hydration, cell regeneration, oxidative stress and the prevention of brown spots. Their combination explains the results which are immediately visible, and which are prolonged and amplified over time. Our easy-to-apply products reflect their ingredients. Our active ingredients express themselves freely. Right from the creation of our first major beauty care products, with the experts and teams who work with Olivier Claire, we made a point of selecting active ingredients obtained through biotechnology, such as plant stem cells from Criste-marine. This plant, which grows on the west coast of France, mainly in Brittany, by the sea, in dunes and on rocks, is resistant to sea spray, iodine, wind, drought, sun and temperature variations. Its defence and regeneration properties are mainly due to its native cells, which are responsible for every organ formation. They ensure harmonious growth. All plants and animals, including humans, have stem cells. As for native plant cells, these are undifferentiated cells which, thanks to their capacity for infinite self-renewal and differentiation into different cell types, are innovative ingredients of the first choice. The unique properties of native seabuckthorn cells have beneficial effects on humans, including significant stimulation of regeneration of the epidermis
Our development and innovations are the result of listening carefully to the expectations and needs of our customers and partners. Our latest launch: ULTRA - Anti-Ageing Drinkable, a great success, is part of this innovative approach: offering a Food Supplement that acts on the signs of ageing but also on vitality! The Olivier Claire Anti-Ageing range is short, but covers needs from prevention to the care of mature skin... The idea is to offer only products that are particularly innovative and/or meet a real demand.
We can already announce that our R&D team is finalising the ULTRA cream. It will be on the market very soon. As its name suggests, this cream is more than a skincare product, it’s the guarantee of a genuine cellular rebirth of the skin. Before this winter, we’ll be launching the High Performance Lip Balm with its nourishing and repairing properties.
We are in a very virtuous brand life cycle. As far as distribution is concerned, our priority is to focus on developing our partnerships in France, taking care to ensure that each channel has its own specific characteristics, so that we can provide “made-to-measure” support. We’re setting out to conquer Europe. Asia is also taking a close interest in our brand. I’m also keeping to one guideline: guaranteeing the effectiveness and quality of our products.
